Bees in your Garden at Foxburrow Farm

Saturday, June 23, 2018 - 10:00 to 16:00

Come and learn more about your garden visitors and how to make your garden more bee friendly. With Hawk Honey, Visitor Centre Officer at Lackford Lakes. Suitable for beginners.

There are over 270 species of bee in the UK, many so small that people may disregard them thinking they are flies.

You will be looking at the various species of bees and the differences between them.  Hawk will help you to identify them and tell you about their differing lifecycles. You will also discover how to make your garden a bee friendly place.

After lunch Hawk will take you out onto the beautiful Foxburrow Farm reserve on a bee hunt using sweep nets to see what you can find.
