Butterfly House at Horniman Museum

Get up close with hundreds of beautiful butterflies in our tropical indoor garden.

The specially-planted habitat is the perfect place to experience butterflies free-flying all around you and to discover amazing facts about the life-cycle and behaviour of these fascinating creatures.

Spot different species from across the world, and visit the shop for a range of butterfly and nature inspired gifts for all ages.

Entry to the Butterfly House is by timed ticket, as there is limited capacity inside. There are new entry slots every 15 minutes from 10am until 4.30pm with last admission, however you are welcome to stay and enjoy the Butterfly House as long as you wish.

You will receive your etickets which you will need to show on the day (either on your mobile device or printed). Members and Benefactors will need to show their members or benefactor card.

Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Accessibility

The Butterfly House is wheelchair accessible and assistance animals are welcome. However, please be aware that the paths in the Butterfly House can at times become muddy and uneven
