Learn more about the butterflies and their habitats from an expert. Weather permitting, spot and identify some of the common and possibly rarer species of chalk grassland habitat at a mid-Kent reserve.

This event is for beginners and those wishing to improve their identification skills

In the afternoon the site to be visited is  Queendown Warren. Map Ref. TQ 827629

By the end of the session participants will be able to:
1. Identify common butterflies likely to be seen in the summer months
2. Identify food plants for caterpillars and adults
3. Understand more about butterfly lifecycles, habitat management and species reintroductions

Wheelchair accessible. All surface path around wildlife garden. Pond with accessible platform. 
Disabled access to the barn and nature park (with its short nature trail) is very good.
