It's Big and it's Wild it's the Big Wild Weekend!

We are hosting lots of exciting outdoor events across Staffordshire for the Big Wild Weekend, a nationwide celebration of The Wildlife Trusts' 30 Days Wild campaign.

This Saturday you can bring the whole family along to explore what creatures live in the pools at Doxey!

During this session we will provide you with all the equipment and skills you need to discover the under water world of Staffordshire. Will you find water boatmen, whirligig beetles or damselfly nymphs?

Meet us at the car park at 10.30am

Did you know?

Most poisonous

There are lots of contenders here – possibly the pretty red and blue rove beetle Paederus – very, very tiny amounts of its poison have been used to cure chronic ulceration in people. Ladybirds are pretty poisonous (and pretty) and can bleed foul-tasting poisonous brightly coloured blood from their knees.
