National Insect Week returns in 2020

Struie Hill Butterfly Walk

Sunday, July 1, 2018 - 10:30 to 14:30

There are very few records of both butterflies and moths for this lovely little hill (373M / 1230FT), hopefully on this July outing we can add many more.

The path starts from where we can park and is approx. 500ft of easy ascent with a short steep section just below the top.

From there we can follow a good path along the ridge as far as time permits. The walk up the hill will be very slow with lots of stops.

Meeting place:  Small car park at NH650849 (nearest post code:IV24 3DL) on the west side of the B9176 (Struie) road. The track up Struie Hill is close by. Not the viewpoint car park at NH652858.

Approx. duration:  Approx. 4 hours depending on weather.

What’s needed:    Lunch, waterproofs, suitable footwear.
