Understanding Wild Bees at the Castle Garden

Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 18:00 to 20:30

Come and learn about the wonderful world of Bees. In this course we will introduce you to the diverse range of wild bees living and pollinating our gardens. We will learn about plants that the bees love and have a tour of the Castle Garden. We will also show you how to build and maintain a solitary bee hotel.

Trainer: Sean Hearn

Sean is the Castle's resident beekeeper; he manages the Apiary at Hawkwood and is an all-round expert on everything bee related. Initially trained in conventional bee-keeping methods, Sean has evolved the techniques to set up London’s first ever-sustainable beehives using biodynamic methods.
