93 days to go to National Insect Week

Butterfly World

Butterfly World

Butterfly World is a £27 million project currently being developed at St Albans. It is due for completion in 2011 with the opening of the tropical biome (100m in diameter and 17.5m high). Insect-friendly wildflower meadows were opened in 2009, and educational facilities (including an Insect Study Centre sponsored by the Royal Entomological Society) have been in operation since spring 2010. When completed, it will be the largest walk-through butterfly attraction in the world.
