National Insect Week returns in 2020

We are providing a unique experience to see inside the world of Invertebrates at Wild Discovery Zoo, Ribby Hall Village.
You can get involved with pond dipping, checking the pitfall traps, providing displays of predatory and prey insects.
Normal zoo admission applies, Children £6 - Adults £7 - Family pass £24, this is for a full day pass. Insect activites are included in your admission.
Female water snipe flies Atherix ibis clasp each other and cluster in big round aggregations on the end of branches overhanging rivers – males entering the swarms are mated repeatedly until they die. The females then lay their eggs in to the water – and all die still in their tight aggregations.
