People's trust for endangered species

The People’s Trust for Endangered Species seeks to ensure a future for many endangered species in the UK and throughout the world. The trust focuses on specific problems and works to preserve endangered species in their natural habitats, basing its practical conservation efforts on sound scientific evidence. Since 1998 the Trust has been coordinating a public survey of the stag beetle in the UK.

Did you know?

Most poisonous

There are lots of contenders here – possibly the pretty red and blue rove beetle Paederus – very, very tiny amounts of its poison have been used to cure chronic ulceration in people. Ladybirds are pretty poisonous (and pretty) and can bleed foul-tasting poisonous brightly coloured blood from their knees.
