Science Oxford Live

Science Oxford Live

Science Oxford Live is a centre for science and enterprise located in East Oxford. The centre organises regular events for families and adults, and hosts an interactive discovery zone for children. In 2011 around 15,000 people visited the site, with a similar number taking part in our highly successful schools outreach programme. Science Oxford Live is operated by The Oxford Trust, a charitable trust founded in 1985 to encourage the pursuit of science and enterprise.

Did you know?

Most poisonous

There are lots of contenders here – possibly the pretty red and blue rove beetle Paederus – very, very tiny amounts of its poison have been used to cure chronic ulceration in people. Ladybirds are pretty poisonous (and pretty) and can bleed foul-tasting poisonous brightly coloured blood from their knees.
